Looking to build my own bike! Looking for parts advice!

It crossed my mind that when/if my current bike dies, I could build my own. I doubt I'd do that though. It's takes me forever to spec out parts. And I don't really have room for doing a years-long project of slowing building a bike. I'd probably be better off buying what I want, and then doing repairs myself.

You'd start with the purpose of the bike, right? Road vs. mountain vs. something else?

And fit the triangle part of the frame to your body size?

While factoring price, etc.
