The funny thing about that seatpost... This bike came with the super cool Sugino SP-KC with the built in "ruler" on it:





The XC Pro seatpost feels like it weighs almost HALF what the Sugino does. At least it feels like it . I never would have considered that kind of weight savings over a seatpost.

Additionally, it's MUCH more adjustable. Perhaps the bigger issue is that the "flutes" that comprise the "ruler" allow water to sit in the seat tube. I always glob grease at the top of the flute- but I'm sure water gets in there.
