Gotcha. Yeah, I don't know, but I assume that they did change the last. I had some Shimano shoes of a similar level about 4 or 5 years ago and they fit much better than the RC7s that I tried on. In your position I would order both.

The Sidi Megas take the high-volume approach, too. Like the Shimano, they don't work for me. Lake and Bont are the two most prominent makers of (actually) wide cycling shoes, so if the Lakes work and you want to try something else, Bont might be worthwhile. Like Lake, Bont are tough to come by at times. QBP is the primary importer in the US and their stock is crap - one or two of each size, if that. For the model that I'm interested in, the Riot +, they don't actually have any Wides in stock in the country - how dumb is that? Bont is known for wide and they don't have them Anyway, some are supposed to be inbound, so I have a deposit down at my LBS for whenever they do arrive.
