Hi, my friends and I would like to ride stage 2 ( or at least a good part of it), Does anyone know if they will let you ride the route even after they close the road to traffic. I notice that they close certain sections for approximately 5 hours and several hours before the cyclist come by. Would we still be able to ride the closed portion?

Not from what I’ve read. What we don’t see on TV is the caravan of paid advertising vehicles that proceeds down the route in the morning of the days race. Thus they keep the route closed. One exception I believe is some of the mt. stages where you have to time it, but can ascend the climbs to wait for the race to roll thru.
