I chose a 48/34 when I ordered my Mighty Tour and used it for CX after my CX bike with its Ritchey 48/38 got stolen. Depending on the cogset, I might not get 10, 12, or 14 different gears but it looks pretty cool on a vintage bike. The next time my wife wants to get extravagant, I think I'll get a TA pro 5 vis. They look real nice and that is, after all, the most important thing.
Edit: Oops. I probably need a Touring frameset to hang those TA Cranks on.
