Depending on road conditions, Rohloff is an expensive piece of kit to run in winter. Road salt has no mercy on even the most weather resistant components.

I don’t ride anything dear on salty roads. Anything I ride, I do so with the assumption that I’m destroying it. Kinda sucks, but that’s road salt.
