Yeah, lol. That's about it. If I buy her a new bike, I have to wait a year for my new one, but then again, I'd rather have times where she rides with me, so it's a trade-off
Trek FX3's don't lose value all that quickly, if there's no damage you could probably sell it on Craigslist for $650-$700 and only lose a bit. Chalk it up to experience. That said, I was in a similar boat and decided to keep the FX3 and buy a used drop-bar road bike.
