Hmmm...I'm sure helmets are a good idea to wear and help prevent turning you into a breathing/feeding tube associate. My better half/wife is an operating room nurse and has seen a few brain injuries in her day.My 80 something year old mother encourages me too to wear my skid lid as well.I admit that if I'm just gonna' be pedaling for a few miles I don't put the lid on.But,this is my choice and I don't strap it on as a matter of conveinence. The newer helmets with the spin knob adjustment seem to be a step in the right direction as far as fitting goes.My current helmet with chin straps and velcro is a pain in the a@@ to adjust. If I was to answer yes or no about wearing a helmet I would say,"Yes,wear a helmet no matter how awkward, inconvienent,or dorky you feel."I saw a picture once of a buffed up,high-tech roadie from NYC with his personal ad printed on his helmet.Hope he found her and are biking away together.Peace.
