Another thing you can do with a stand like that is loop a rubber strap or a piece of velcro or something around the front wheel and hook it to something up high, and then use the floor stand to keep the rear wheel in place. This way you can store your bike somewhere vertically where it is almost completely out of the way. Such as in a closet.

... or you could just use a bike hook screwed into the wall, and let the bike hang completely off the floor against the wall. Bike hooks can be bought at any hardware store.
