re-scanning this thread & saw this post of yours. I just started experimenting with an older set of the same pedals in black (on my road bike). not that the color matters but those silver units are nice looking. got to ride my road bike on some hard packed dirt clipped in. wasn't too bad but I got a little concerened approaching some soft patches of sand. I have mine adjusted pretty loosely & using the multi-release "56" cleats. no falls yet!
