I put a new inner tube up front (rear holds air just fine) then lubed up the chain and sprayed some lube into the wheel hubs before I rode it. It rides just fine. As far as keeping it for sentimental value, to be honest, my wife isn't close with her family at all (aside from her siblings). That was my original thought too (I am a sentimental kinda guy and am a lot closer with my family) but she doesn't care to keep it.
