Thanks. Is it crazy to look at the MicroNew or Microshift 2x7 sti style shifters? Downtube seem like a better value but even used they are expensive online. The thing is i have a very nice set of Universal Squadra brakes/levers on the bike and would like to keep the levers with the brakes. It isnt a deal breaker and i could be swayed. People shun the downtube shifters these days but i dont see why. They were functional and worked well. THere is no chance i will ever win the tour so i dont see the argument of downtubes vs stis other than perhaps the safety aspect of taking your hands off the bars to shift.
