So I sent my RD back to the vendor I bought it from for a replacement from SRAM, and I received the replacement and installed it yesterday. Today I rode 60 miles without a problem. As far as I know the new RD has no upgrade/fix or whatever so I guess the problem could happen again. I’m keeping track of the miles I have on the new derailleur.
