One thing, the cups in a Campy Record hub can wear out and pit and become rough if the hub is not cared for, and lubricated with grease. A WD40 spray is just a brief stopgap. If the hub is smooth it should still be overhauled for prevention and preservation. Tthe cups are replaceable but that requires you to FIND good vintage parts. I do not believe that’s easy to do.
