I have some friends that say Manitou is a great brand for forks, very underrated. They make the fork in a 26 wheel size which would be a lot better for DJ. If you go with a Pike 120 mm, then you need to go with 27.5. I won't look at Fox because you will need to go used in order for that to fix into your price range. As far as those wheels go, I like spank products. I currently run a set of their rims and they are solid. Some of the stuff I have put them through has been pretty rough and no complaints.
