I have always done rattle can, but to do anything right you would want an airbrush. otherwise ... it is just painting. More chance for runs and drips with all the weird angles, and hard shapes to work with, but peple do it ... you are a person (I assume) ergo---you cna do it.

Pick up some trash bikes (literally bikes from the trash,) clean them up, and shoot away.

I recommend Citristrip (CitriStrip) for removing skin and paint in an environmentally sound fashion. That and Naval Jelly and steel wool and a good wire brush, sandpaper, some polishing wheels on a drill ....
