For some reason, ice in my drinks is important to me. Everything tastes better with ice in it. Even plain water, even when it's cold, the ice just makes it better. So I use trays like they're going out of style. Thanks for taking the time to share this.
This is totally how I feel, too. I love how the cold transfer makes the beverage cold and mellows out the flavour. Funny how A&W is the only fast food joint that doesn't add ice to their root beer, claiming that the flavour isn't diluted. That's the reason I don't really like their root beer that much.
Tom Hanks spoke for me in Cast Away when he said "I like ice." Seems like this is a North American thing. I've never been to Europe during the warmer months, but will do at some point. I have to admit that the lack of freely available ice everywhere worries me a bit, especially if I'm riding. I take convenient ice for granted.
