Decided to tear it apart and install a sensible set of parts. I'll designate it as a bike for my grandson next year, or I'll ride it myself a bit. I figure I can sell the oddball parts and slap on all-Shimano stuff to keep tmh657's OCD from spiking (that's how I felt, too). The other bike I got in the deal was a 1989 Waterford Paramount in pretty nice shape. It needs a little attention, and it's a size too small for me, so it will be the one to find a new home. I love these projects!
