Late response, but I did have it stashed in the garage and my mom says no still. My dad is more liberal and even secretly let me ride home from school on the last week of the school year. I believe the wheel probably didn't move, or very little, as I managed to ride it home injured and half knocked out. However, your theory is probably pretty accurate, but I wouldn't know as I only remember someone helping me up and riding home.
