Yeah, the incredibly loud freewheel/freehub thing. it's annoying. Chris King hubs are the worst. Sounds like some sort of party buzzer - or maybe the old Cox model airplane engines.
Great description! In a group where I'm the only non-freehub rider, I could almost close my eyes and navigate by the sounds alone.
