Hi all. I'm a very new bike enthusiast and I am looking torn between 2 entry level bikes to start me off with and am seeking advice from a knowledgeable community! Anything would be appreciated. The bikes:

- Dawes Ambassador (£325) - love the vintage look of this bike and it was not as heavy as I expected. I have heard conflicting reviews about Dawes so really not sure who's word to take on this. It's nice that the bike comes with fenders installed already so extra cost (in the city I live in, the fenders are a must!)

- Giant Escape 3 (£295 + £35 fenders - £330) - although I don't think it's as lovely looking to the eye as the Ambassador (a bit too sportish looking for me), it is still sleek looking bike. I've been told it's a better and more quality bike than the Ambassador.

I must say, I have not seen either in person.
