While my music isnt blasting, I use wireless ear buds when riding alone. I love em not only for the music, but to reduce the wind noise. I can hear cars, kids, etc with music playing since wind noise is gone. It obviously isnt as good as no music at all, but it has served me well.
The common retort is that I cant hear a car coming from behind. I am not sure what to say to that as even when I am riding without ear buds I dont do anything when a car approaches from behind. I ride the same way regardless.
