I have clipped a pedal on a fixed and been thrown off, and folded a fork and was thrown over the bars, but still never hit my head. I think learning HOW to fall is important, at least as much as safety gear.
I thought so too, but I was wrong, really wrong. I ride a motorcycle and know how and when to go down to but maybe that was part of the delusion, in comparison, how bad could a bicycle crash really be? In the past I've always protected my skull in a fall. That was until wednesday, it was not like any other fall or crash I've had before. Really woke me up.
