If there is a demand for bike building and repair, I'd imagine there will be a business.
I wouldn't have believed it--and in fact argued that it couldn't be profitable---but I was wrong, and there is a franchising business that sets up people in vans doing on-demand bike repair for office workers and wealthy folks. Not sure what will happen with poorer folk.
I see mobile detailing businesses---the big deal, as I see it, is that the business owner doesn't have rent and energy overhead. Maybe the van idea will catch on---Pull up in some guy's driveway, roll out the roll-up tarp, lay down the rubber floor mat, break out the parts- and the repair stand--since it is by appointment the mechanic will have a good idea of what parts to bring.
Who knows. if there is a real need it will be dealt with. fear not.
