Thanks for sharing the trip pictures. Looks like it was a lot of fun. 1l water really isn't enough, unless you know where the water stops are. Perhaps I have the mindset of someone who grew up in a hot area, but I find that sometimes water supply is the limiting factor in how far you can ride. I've start with as much as 4l in the morning while on a minitour. In the old days, we used to drink out of streams if they looked clean. Bear Grylls says you can't do that anymore, but raw bugs are fine.

Common issue for Dutch people, not drinking enough water. I even used to work in an outdoor store telling people to bring plenty of water. Guess I needed to be reminded of that on my first day.

We hiked the
Outer Mountain loop trail in Big Bend TX last spring at a nice and toasty 40℃ (100℉). We carried somewhere around 10L (2.5 gallons) per person for drinking and food preparation with the first day being the heaviest. Norway the year before that was a lot easier. Lots of streams you can drink from.
I can shoot some pictures of the Weinmann brakes but basically the screw on the back of the bolt that held the pads just snapped off. Not much you can repair about that unfortunately.
