Yup. To be clear the sound originates from the bottom bracket. Thats not under any question. a
I note HillRider's comment about there being more to a bottom bracket than just ball bearings.

So my question remains whether its pissible to dismantle the bearings to clean / regrease them or if they are just a sealed unit which can only be replaced.
