The important question here though is which method more reliably measures aerodynamic gains from improved equipment. The clock method is pretty straightforward, and of course faster is faster. Less aero drag is undeniably faster as well. The issue though of course is that as SF said, Rchungs method is 'voodoo,' and he isn't currently able to unvoodoo it for us.
It doesn't matter if he un-voodoo's the math for us. Point is, testing is more reliable than a math model.
