Bikes: 2020 Pivot Vault, 1983 Rossin Record, Garneau R1, Mesamods home built gravel/rain commuter bike, 1995 Barracuda A2V modified with Surley single speed dropouts, 1969 Bottecchia junkyard special fixed gear, Cervelo P4, Mesamods 650b klunker

I worked at a Cervelo dealer for several years. The BBRight and BB30 bikes (30mm spindle) generally require regular maintenance. Typically if the bike is equipped with the wavy washer to take up the extra slack between the crank arms and the bearings and the bike is used on the trainer a lot (gets sweated on) or gets ridden in wet weather, the spindle walking within the bearings tends to make a lot of noise. I made a video about a year ago with some tips on keeping this set up silent, but the best method I've found so far is replacing the BB for an outboard style that adapts to shimano 24mm cranks or SRAM GXP 24/22mm spindle cranks. Wheels MFG, Kogel and Praxix make decent options.
