I just picked up a true old school bmx survivor. A 1989 Redline Two-Five (RL25). It's longer 21" top tube and old school geometry make for a comfortable ride for me at 5'11". Not to mention it's just so damn pretty.

I think you made the right choice, and I'm glad you were still able to get the RL25 as bike like that don't last 5 mins where I live. Personally I find mid school just too bulky and heavy, and new school BMX are good for certain tricks but are terrible riding/cruising bikes. Old School for me has the best of both worlds, they cruise nice and are light enough to still do tricks on.
