I should collect the stories of weird things I see people on bikes (and related vehicles). Yesterday on the way to work, I saw something I see occasionally: a parent taking their kid to school/camp on a kick scooter. The parent stands on the back of the platform and the kid on the front. All four hands are on the handlebar. In this case, the kid was reading a book leaning on the handlebar, not looking ahead. I laughed out loud!

I listen to podcasts while commuting. Yesterday, I heard a story on The Moth podcast that was so moving that I cried out loud. It's a weird feeling to cry while cycling. The story teller said her grandfather was dying of cancer. Two days before she announced she was pregnant, Grandpapa said he wanted an assisted suicide. On hearing the news, he decided to stick it out so he could see his great grandbaby. Mama recovered from birth in the room below Grandpapa in the hospital. She broke the rule and brought Baby to Grandpapa who died the next day at home.

So I cried and laughed out loud on the same ride.
