“Something like” so it was not XPEL. I had it applied to the entire hood, bumper, fenders of my Toyota Tundra, 4 years later...perfect paint. XPEL is expensive paint protection because it actually works. Usually applied to Mazi’s, Porsche, Bimmers, Lexus autos. Sound like you had clear 3m tape. Excellent material having had it applied to several cars and trucks. FWIW...
