Yes I was very far off on dating!! A quick post later in the evening. I also didn't catch that the FW had 5 cogs.

Dating with Suntour components yields a most likely 1973 bike? Suntour components made in mid to late '72.

Shifters marked: OJ
FD marked: OL
RD marked: OH

Thanks for the link, I will pull the seatpost and see if I can get a date code after work. I did not expect the bike to be this old, it was a mid-range machine I suppose.

I'm curious on the type of steel used. The brazing seems to be very clean around the (non-forged ) dropouts. Weight is in the 25 ~ 30lb range, measured using the old step on a scale trick.
