Actually..........

Central Station in Amsterdam is packed pretty much from dawn til midnight. The fact that the guy "only" stabbed 2 people before being taken out of commission by the Police actually inspires confidence in me.

What it is a promotion for is the fantastic service that the Dutch train system provides for bikes. Travel on just about any train in the country for the princely sum of Euro 6,20 per day! (for the bike - you're extra ). No boxing. Can oftentimes leave all the bags on the bikes. A maximum of a couple of steps to mount to enter/exit the train, depending on the train, and most stations have lifts to the platforms.
