What I’m referring to (certainly what I meant to be referring to) is lever feel, not anything to do with performance of the brake itself. I don’t see the point of spring return levers if you have a properly setup system to begin with, that’s free from any issues. What someone might describe as a lighter brake feel with possibly better modulation (not willing to believe that with a centerpull) others might describe it as a mushy lever that exaggerates brake arm flex under load. For the record though, weinmann and Paul’s are stiffer than mafacs, because of differences in the design of the arms. The grancompe 450’s I also ran are a copy of the mafac Competition.
