Cows are the most harmless beings on the roads and they are found in much lesser number on the roads these days. There a lot of attributes that has contributed to the current life threatening chaos on our roads. A cyclist just cannot claim the lane here. Bangalore and Chennai are both great cities to bike minus the horrendous traffic.
It was about 8 years ago the last time I was there. I remember it taking an hour to just about anywhere by car with horrendous traffic the first time, but by the third time they had built a number of flyovers to get traffic moving and it wasn't so bad. The few people on bikes looked to be transporting one thing or another. I never saw a recreational cyclist or even someone just riding to get somewhere.
