I love your idea, but I can't imagine buying a bike for my wife without her making the choice.

To me, buying a bike is a very personal matter, involving tangible matters (fit and price), and intangible matters (looks). I love the idea of giving her a little package with pedals, and letting her pick out the bike (and I say that as a Cervelo fan).
