I think it's crazy that 99% of replies here frown upon making the bike a hands on surprise. Everyone is saying let her pick it out.

That said, why are online discount bike suppliers so popular.?? How many bikes in the world are purchased sight unseen.?? I would guess at least 40%.

Bikes are adjustable. If nobody is buying bikes unseen the online discount suppliers would have no business at all.

What gives.?? Buying a bike is not rocket science. Even a racing bike can be adjustable to a comfort bike, an endurance bike.

What's all the fuss.
