Have the Nashbar 2sided SPDs ($20) on my daily commuter/MTB for over a year. The pedals are as good as any SPDs I've used. Bounced them around on some rocky trails and a few other offroad adventures as well as the daily commute and a weekly hillclimb.
Still looking pretty good. Definitely worth every cent.
