Thanks for posting that. It clears some things up. Hard to remember, decades later.

There is a contradiction in that article. It states unequivocally that the 'nuovo record' 1046/A BB was never produced in X3. However, the tables clearly list a nuovo X3 spindle, complete with the slightly longer A, B and C dimensions. Something is amiss. Perhaps what happened is that you could no longer buy a complete X3 bottom bracket, but you could still order a spindle to fit the new rifled thicker cups. Speculation though. I've certainly never seen a triple spindle for nuovo record BB, and I'm inclined to say at least practically speaking they may as well not exist. Campy triples are something I associate with the early 70s, but like I said, by the late 70s and into the early 80s, if you wanted a triple most went with TA, Sugino, Phil (BB only), or maybe Avocet/Ofmega.

Conclusion, either acquire the early original flavor record thin cups and x3 spindle, or run something else.
