One feature that you might also want to consider in a camera for cycling is one that has some sort of rapid-fire or continuous shooting setting. This is typically a setting that will allow the camera to go "full-auto" and take as many pictures as fast as it can while you hold down the shutter release. This is great for those times when you don't have an opportunity to be careful about framing and composing the shot such as shooting on the move. Just squeeze the button and go back later to delete the pictures that didn't come out. My camera will capture about 2fps at max resolution (1280x960) and a little faster if I drop to a lower resolution (3 to 4 fps at 640x480). The DiMage X1 will capture 0.5fps at max resolution (3264 x 2448) with anti-shake and 10fps at 640x480 with anti-shake. It also has a feature called Ultra High Speed Progressive where one squeeze of the shutter will capture 1.5 seconds into a buffer which amounts to about 15 frames at 640x480. This buffer will then get written to storage. While 640x480 seems small, it's good enough for posting to webpages and even small pictures (3x5 or 4x6).
Nah, I didn't break it....I was just reviewing pix and it died. I figured it was batteries, but it won't take a charge, light it's LED or give any other indication that it's taking power. It's a USB device and the PC won't recognize it. Just dead.
But on the brighter side: I bought it from the Sharper Image store on Ebay and they've already emailed me a return UPS label and are giving me a full refund. They've been very good in this matter.
