So I'm in Indiana participating in the Hilly Hundred which rides along many of the roads that character Dave Stoller rode in the movie BREAKING AWAY. Before today's ride I was talking with a local guy who mentioned that the limestone quarry they swam in in the movie is being filled in and will eventually be built over.

A long time ago I was living in Northern IN, and discovered one of my co-workers was an IU-Bloomington graduate.
I asked him if there really was a quarry there as depicted in "Breaking Away";
Him:
"Yes, the quarry was real, but the scene was not realistic."
Me:
"What was wrong with the scene?"
Him:
"Nobody ever wore clothes at the quarry!"
