Then again you may be in an area that has LBS's that either don't work on C&V or don't have the expertise to, or where the nearest CO-OP is a long ways off. And while buying tools is expensive, once you have them its a sunk cost and god forbid you get bitten by the old bike bug and need to add to your stable you have the right tools to bring bikes back to life.
