I still see lots of bikes I enjoy looking at and thinking about but having fewer things to manage is a nice feeling as well.
That's been my approach, too, except I keep a couple that I like to ride for brief and occasional fun like my lightweight fixed gear bikes. So basically, one lightweight bike and one well-equipped one.
