Bikes: 1964 Legnano Roma Olympiade, 1973 Raleigh Super Course, 1978 Raleigh Super Course, 1978 Peugeot PR10, 2002 Specialized Allez, 2007 Specialized Roubaix, 2013 Culprit Croz Blade

I recently acquired a '78 Peugeot PR10 (I think) and have had a '73 Raleigh Super Course, both 531 frames, main triangle. The wheelbase on both bikes is within a fraction, but the Pug feels racier, and the Raleigh rides great, but in a more relaxed manner. I love them both but was surprised by the noticable difference. Both have 700c Mavic rims on large flange hubs and 28c Paselas. Being the same wheelbase, notice how much more space the Raleigh has between rear tire and seat tube. I have never researched the frame angles, only frame size. The Raleigh was built from a "found" bare frame, where I got the Peugeot complete. The Raleigh feels like it was custom made for me. The Peugeot is close, but I'm still getting it dialed in. Both are very stable at 30+ mph speeds, and seem to climb equally well. The Peugeot just seems more eager to speed along. It's s also about 2 lb. lighter than the Raleigh. As a sanity check I got out the old Legnano Roma that I've had since new in '64. The measurement on my bikes are: Legnano, tt 23", st 22", Raleigh, tt 22", st 23", Peugeot tt 23", st 23.5". Seat tube is measured bb center to center of top tube. Top tube measurement is center of seat tube to center of head tube. Not much different, but noticable on the road. I do have a longer Nitto stem on the Legnano, which I got as a teenager.
