Nor is the fork particularly light weight, despite what that article suggests. I found the third-generation Viscount cast aluminum fork to actually weigh more than a same size Reynolds 531 steel fork with an investment cast crown.

One of the CR mailing list participants who worked for Trusty BITD stated that the aluminum fork was actually made from a cast of a steel fork.
