Yep, they're pretty cheap plastic. I also paid the price for my lack of care and my GoPro was totaled when it feel of my bike and was run over by a closely following car (one reason why I hate people following on my tail). At present I'm using my chest strap but if I ever go back to frame mount I will keep a close watch on how well its holding up. If they crack, get a new mount immediately.
