Granted, there are (bad pun alert) gray areas, but you can't call anything with any sort of gloss or metallic automatically silver. That would only leave battleship gray, pretty much.
My 'dark pewter' 1984 Trek 620 looks to me like a medium gray with metallic fleck. The color became more attractive once 30+ years of grime was removed.
