It was a squeeze play from back in the day when people rode inferior quality bikes like LHT's because they didn't know better.

Now, by my reckoning; steel is real, wood is good, Al (A-ell) is swell and carbon... doesn't rhyme with anything so... it can't be used in poetic bike speak easily.
