Another day, another ride. My usual weekend fun run on mixed road/gravel through the Sumas Prairie.
This is a section of the original Yale Road that stretched between New Westminster and the Fraser Canyon built during the gold rush of the mid 1800's.
A rest break at the original
Arnold train depot. Arnold was a small farming community nestled beneath the shoulders of Vedder Mountain adjacent to the CAN/US border.
For some reason I call this one "Fish rides bike". An
omage to the recent Sockeye Salmon run.
And an end run along dike systems and woodland back home. Depending on the route it can vary between 30-50km's of fairly flat and small roller hills - but with predictably common strong headwinds.
