out the door early so i could swing by my polling place and vote before i rode to work. Usually if i'm there when the doors open it's a ghost town. Today i was about 15th in line and by the time i finished there were about 50 people waiting. Good to see people turning out to vote.
As a result of the line, i was about 15 minutes late getting to work. The ride to work was pretty cold. 34°f with a stiff 20 mph headwind. The last two miles were unsheltered and straight into it, so even on my road bike it was slow going. But i made it.
Last night i got my winter bicycle ready for the coming season. New rear wheel, cassette, chain and bar mitts. Went through everything else and tweaked the adjustments as necessary. Had to remove my 3rd backup headlight to make room for the bar mitts. I hardly ever used it anyway, as my 2nd backup is my helmet light. It would be a really strange development to lose two lights in a commute.
